DropGyro System Helps Yantai Drilling Company Overcome Magnetic Interference, Saving Time and Costs

In late July 2025, a Yantai drilling company drilled a multi-lateral extended-reach horizontal well, which encountered magnetic interference at 2,330m. At 2,077m depth, the operator planned a gyro survey to verify MWD data, aiming to reduce EOU and optimize wellbore trajectory.

 The initial plan of continuous wireline gyro survey would require on-site wireline truck deployment, increasing non-productive time (NPT). 

 Gyrofinderrecommended its DropGyrosystem, which is more convenient and faster than wireline surveys no complex wireline operations, deployable directly into the wellbore. It can run two independent gyro tools simultaneously (separate power, independent operation), obtaining two data sets in one run for cross-verification. The customer chose WinGyroV DropGyro.
